Letdown
I admit I had my hopes up that Capcom would somehow regain what they’d lost (or what they’d chucked over their shoulder on purpose) and fill the upcoming Resident Evil game with the same old glorious CV:X tension, making us forgive and forget RE 4 forever. But alas it is clear that people who are set on destroying one of the most enchanting franchises in the world will not stop at anything. Not that RE 5 doesn’t look like a great game, because it does, but it does not look like a Resident Evil game at all.

Makes you feel like you’ve already played the game, huh? Same soundeffects, same moves as in RE 4. Damn, I’m so glad I didn’t get that Umbrella tattoo now. I curse you, Capcom crew. I do.

As much I liked RE4, I agree with you. They’re completely blowing off the richness and feel of the other RE games and just making another “shooter”.

I loved RE 4, I honestly did, but because it was a good game and not because it gave me that wonderful Resident Evilness that I adore. =/
I liked it a lot, but from that trailer, it’s not screaming “Resident Evil” it seems a little too much like all the shooters around but with some zombies thrown in.
I miss the old REs and wish they would go back to that style. I miss the creepiness and atmosphere.

I know, they are not even zombies but some weird plaga like parasites like in RE 4. As shooter games they’re great, but I wish they’d change the name to something else since it has virtually nothing to do with what Resident Evil stands for anymore.
Exactly, make it all a spin-off or something and bring Resident Evil back to it’s roots.

well, RE4 became goty on gc, it sold better on PS2 and even ported to Pc and Wii… so that proved that this new style was loved, alot…
so RE5 just continues that…but imo, its just RE4 with prettier graphics… even the environment doesnt look so different…
but it will succeed again so RE6 will be like this again or maybe they will add some new things in 6…
